I Don’t Want to Become like My Sister – Hen Shan Ke

Most of Kat Yokoyama's songs have an inexplicable sense of peace and sadness mixed in, creating tear-jerking moments after tear-jerking moments, making him a master of soundtracks in the anime industry.
Yokoyama has scored many great anime soundtracks, including, but not limited to, the Queen's Blade soundtrack and the soundtrack for the famous healing drama April is Your Lie. And this piece of pure music is featured in the anime Her Blue Sky. As a rather groovy anime with an unremarkable (and inevitably bad) plot, it's safe to say that Kat Yokoyama's score work was instrumental in creating tear-jerkers as well as minor climaxes and boosting its overall rating.
The piece opens with a very quiet piano melody with ethereal background tones, as if it were dappled with glittering memories, or as if it were a blurred city neon in the rain at night, instantly immersing the listener into the mood and quieting them down. The violin that looms in the background slowly builds, finally coming to a moment where it explodes out with the bass, and after a brief moment of unison it falls silent again, slowly continuing its progression.
Repeating a slightly contradictory but extremely beautiful melody the violin with the piano slowly builds up, finally reaching another moment, again to a small climax. With alto and bass strings as the accompanying chords, and violin and piano as the interlocking main themes, this music comes to its final bloom. With that, it fades down, leaving a regrettable tear-jerker that propels the anime's emotions into the viewer's heart (maybe).
A sad and poignant melody, cozy, and highly storytelling. As the main theme of this anime goes, "A frog at the bottom of a well won't know the vastness of the ocean, but it will know how blue the sky is."
