Once Upon a Space Burial – Triodust

This track, used at the beginning of the game OPUS: Rocket of Whispers (Bridge of Souls), is just right but not too jarring. Composed by Treasure composer Triodust, the music follows his usual masterful use of keyboards, percussion, and melody to create an intriguing mood with stark monotones and backing vocals. It opens with a continuous, smooth melody and diatonic sounds that convey a sense of loneliness as well as storytelling, and then cascades into a more lively, yet somewhat sad, feel with the addition of drums. The climax introduces the lead, hitting the ears over and over again with an excellent melody, and the unpredictable ending caters to the drive of the game, while giving a sense of unfinished business. The whole song is just 2 minutes long, but it creates a somewhat sad, lonely feeling in the game, and makes you feel moved to the core as you can't help but sub in the depiction of the post-epidemic post-apocalyptic world.
