What's classic? This is a classic. Classic music in a classic game to create a quality piece of memory.

This area is from the game 'Metro: Last Light' from the Metro Trilogy, an excellent and much praised, deeply meaningful piece of gaming. The song fits the mood of the game perfectly, heavy, smooth and with an indescribable, natural depression.

It opens with a repetitive beat and heavy melody. After the repetition, it cuts into a thick bass with a more sprightly but late lead and melody, like the arrival of dusk and a blood red haze in the sky. The melody is repeated over and over again, layer by layer, until the strings are added and the emotional climax is reached. One of the hallmarks of the piece is that it is very coherent, the progression is textbook, the melody is repetitive but not boring, and there is a sense of loneliness, a sense of dying everywhere. After the climax, it fades out, ending with a sustained note after a few repetitions of the drums, as if it were the sound of a long resting place for the soul, sad and at the same time representing an end.
